Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Friday appointed Oscar Bruzon as the interim coach of Bangladesh national football team for next two months, relieving Englishman Jamie Day of his duty, a year before expiry of his tenure.
Now, Bangladesh will play the SAFF Championship under the leadership of Spanish coach Bruzon, the head of Bashundhara Kings, in October in Maldives.
However, the BFF won’t suspend Jamie Day directly who took the helm of national team in 2018. Instead, they have removed him from team’s duty in a meeting of National Team Management Committee.
Over the removal of Jamie, a member of National Team Management Committee Satyajit Das Rupu said, “The federation is not satisfied with Jamie's recent performance. We want to do well in the SAFF Championship. That is why Bruzon is being given the team’s responsibility.
