JSC pass rate 87.9pc, 78,429 GPA-5

A total of 87.90 per cent students came out successful in this year’s Junior School Certificate (JSC) and its equivalent Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations

As many as 78,429 students secured highest grade, GPA-5 this year.

Education minister Dipu Moni announced the results through a press briefing at her ministry office on Monday morning.

"A total of 2,287,271 students passed JSC and JDC examinations this year which is 56,442 more than 2018. As many as 78,429 students obtained GPA 5 compared to 68,095 in the previous year," the minister said.

Earlier around 10:00am, the results were handed over to prime minister Sheikh Hasina at her official Ganabhaban residence.

The JSC and its equivalent JDC examinations began on 2 November across the country, with the participation of around 2,400,000 examinees.
