Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued ten Rohingyas from a trawler while they were going to Malaysia illegally from the Bay of Bengal near Shahparir Dwip in Teknaf upazila on Friday.

The identities of the arrestees could not be known yet, reports UNB.

A team of RAB-7 conducted a drive in the Bay and rescued the Rohingyas around 8:30am, said major Mehedi Hasan, commanding officer of RAB-7 in Cox's Bazar.

The elite force also arrested a member of a human trafficking gang from the trawler.
