4 shot in Cox’s Bazar polls violence

At least four people sustained bullet wounds in a clash centring the ongoing upazila elections near a polling centre in Mognama union of Pekua upazila on Sunday morning.

The injured are Abul Hossain, Sadek, Bodi and Ramiz.

The clash ensued around 9:00am near Dakhshin Mognama Government Primary School centre, said assistant sub-inspector Nur Islam.

Presiding officer Osman Goni said they had heard about a clash outside the centre.

Immediately after the incident, voters left the station, he said, adding that high officials of the election commission had been informed.
