41 COVID-19 cases reported in 3 districts

A total of 41 people were diagnosed with coronavirus in Sylhet, Feni and Barishal districts on Saturday, UNB reports.

In Sylhet, 18 more people were found infected with coronavirus in tests conducted at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Himangshu Lal Roy, deputy director of the hospital, confirmed the information, saying 17 of the newly identified Covid-19 patients are from Golapganj upazila while the other is a nurse of the hospital.

With the latest ones, the total confirmed cases in the district reached 134.

In Barishal, two more people tested positive for coronavirus on the day, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the district to 73.

According to the district administration, they are residents of Barishal metropolitan area.

In Feni, 21 more people, including two policemen, were diagnosed with COVID-19.

Sharfuddin Mahmud, an official at Feni health department, said tests conducted at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University confirmed the results.

Currently, the district has 51 confirmed Covid-19 cases.

As coronavirus spreads fast, the death toll in Bangladesh hit 314 with 16 more deaths being reported on Saturday.

The health authorities also confirmed 930 new cases during the last 24 hours, pushing up the total confirmed cases to 20,995.
