Hajj pilgrims lowest fare fixed, no further decrease

The authorities of Biman Bangladesh Airlines has claimed they fixed the lowest airfare and so it is not possible to reduce it any further.   

They came up with this decision at a press conference on Sunday at the headquarters of national flag carrier.

In the briefing, the managing director of the airlines Shafiul Azim said, "The lowest airfare has been set. It is not possible to decrease it any further."

This year the cost for performing hajj under government package was fixed at Tk 683,015 per person while the figure is Tk 672,618 if anyone chooses private package -- higher by neighbouring India and Pakistan by around Tk 150,000.

The expenditure has been hiked by Tk 150,000 to Tk 221,000, compared to last year.
