The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday filed a case against former secretary ATM Sarwar Hossain and his wife Nazma Akhter for allegedly amassing huge wealth illegally, reports UNB.

ACC deputy director Manjur Joynal Abedin filed the case with Dhaka-1 coordinated district office under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act-2004 and Money Laundering Prevention Act-2012, said spokesman of the national anti-graft body Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya.

He said the couple in collusion with each other amassed wealth worth Tk 58.4 million beyond known sources of income through taking bribe and corruption, and laundered the money.

Sarwar Hossain, former fisheries and livestock secretary, also served as a member of the National Board Revenue.
