Another accused in 4-murder case arrested

The law enforcement on Wednesday night arrested another accused in the case filed over the murders of four young men whose throat-slit bodies were recovered from a rice field in Baladighi village of Shibganj uapzila in Bogura on 7 May.
A joint team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Detective Branch (DB) of police conducted a drive in Pachbibi area of Joypurhat and arrested Alal, son of Busha of Kathgara village in the upazila, following information given by ‘mastermind’ of the murder, Zahid, reports UNB.
A total of five of the nine people who directly took part in the murders were arrested, police said.
Three other - Manjurul Islam Manju, 45, of Gorana village, Shahadat Hossain, 30, son of Sayat Mallik of Kathgara village and Abu Bakar Pramanik, son of late Rostam Ali of Badladighi village - were also detained as suspects.
On Wednesday, detectives arrested the mastermind of the killings Zahid alias Tera Zahid, son of Abdus Samad of Kathgara Naona in Shibganj upazila.
On Monday, police arrested three accused killers - Jewel Sheikh, 25, son of Rafiqul Sheikh of Chawkpara village in Shibganj upazila, Abul Kalam Azad, 48, son of Abdus Samad of Talukdarpara of Chandanpur, and Rubel Miah, son of Abu Bakar of Daboir village.
On 7 May this year, four young men Zakaria Islam, 32, son of Jahurul Islam of Kathgara village in Shibganj, Shabrul Islam, 35, son of Asir Uddin of Kathgara Chawkpara, and Helal Uddin, 36, son of Azahar Ali of Punot village in Kalai upazila of Joypurhat and Khabir - were found slaughtered in a rice field of Baladighi village in Shibganj upazila.
They were murdered over the share of money got from selling drugs, claimed police.
