BSF kills yet another Bangladeshi
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday shot dead a Bangladeshi youth in bordering area at Angrail of India on the opposite side of Putkhali bordering area of Sharsha upazila in Jessore.
The deceased, Monirul Islam, 25, son of Manjurul Islam of Balunda village of Sharsha upazila, fell victim to BSF’s shooting while fetching cattle from India.
The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Tuesday sent a letter to the BSF protesting at the killing.
The BGB also called on the BSF to sit for a flag meeting over the incident of killing.
According to locals, police and BGB officials, BSF members chased Monirul and some other cattle traders on Monday night when they were waiting on the Indian side of river Isamati at Putkhali bordering area.
Monirul was caught by BSF members although others managed to escape away.
Later, the BSF members beat and shot him dead and dumped his body on the bank of Isamati river.
Benapole police station officer-in-charge Apurba Hasan told Prothom Alo that they were waiting along with the father of Monirul to get the body from India.
