Cop 'rapes' teenage girl, throws her out of ventilator

A 54-year-old police constable in Sadar upazila was withdrawn on Monday for throwing a teenage girl out of his house through the ventilator allegedly after raping her.

Muktar Hossain, 54, was working as a constable at Madaripur.

Kamrul Hossain, officer-in-charge of Madaripur Sadar police station, said the constable has been residing with his wife in a rented accommodation in TB Clinic area of the town for a long time.

He called the 16-year-old girl in absence of his wife and raped her at 8:00pm on Sunday, the OC added.

Hearing her screaming, locals arrived and confined the constable in his own house. At one stage, he threw the girl out of his house through the ventilator.

Later, the constable was withdrawn and attached to the nearest police lines as the news spread.

Besides, a probe body headed by Badrul Alam Mollah, additional superintendent of police, Madaripur Sadar Circle has been formed to look into the matter.
