Former SC judge Amirul Kabir no more

Former chairman of National Human Rights Commission and retired Supreme Court judge Amirul Kabir Chowdhury died at a city hospital on Tuesday evening. He was 78.

The retired Appallate Division judge, Amirul Kabir, was admitted to Bangladesh Medical College Hospital due to old-age complications on 25 March, said his son-in-law Rajib Ahmed.

Amirul Kabir was survived by a son and two daughters.

His first namaz-e-janaza is scheduled to be held on Eidgah Mosque premises on Tuesday night.

His last namaz-e-janaza will be held at Chandgaon residential area mosque in Chattogram after Zuhr prayers on Wednesday, according to family members.

He will be buried there.
