Former attorney general Mahmudul Islam dies

Constitution expert and former attorney general Mahmudul Islam died at a hospital in the capital on Monday night.
He was 79.
Mahmudul Islam, who had been undergoing treatment for cancer at United Hospital in the city since December 23 last year, was declared dead around 12:05am, his relative told UNB.
Mahmudul is survived by wife, two sons and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held on the Supreme Court premises at 1:00pm on Wednesday after his two sons come from abroad.
Born in Rangpur in 1936, Mahmudul Islam obtained his BA honours and Master’s degrees from political science department of Dhaka University.
Later, he achieved LLB degree from the same university.
