HC summons C’nawabganj SP

The High Court summoned Chapainawabganj police superintendent (SP) TM Mozahidul Islam over his statement suggesting people to crush alive robbers. He has been asked to appear before the court on 4 December.
A bench, comprised of justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and justice Mohammad Ullah, issued the suo moto rule after a report was published on this matter in a daily on 26 November. However, he can produce a report before the court by his lawyer either.
In the HC order, TM Mozahidul Islam has been accused of instigating people for taking law in their own hands. The cabinet secretary, home secretary, law secretary, inspector general of police (IGP), deputy inspector general of Rajshahi range, Chapainawabganj deputy commissioner, and the SP has been asked to answer to the rule within a week. The IGP and the SP have to answer separately by 4 December.
"There will be a murder case, allright, but I will give a final report (giving clean cheat). I do guarantee. So what to worry about where I am a guarantor? If a robber is caught red handed, make an announcement in the locality and lynch it. Burn up cars carrying illegal drugs. I do guarantee, you will not be sued. It’s a guarantee from me," he said.
The SP was speaking as a special guest at an eye treatment camp on the Chapainawabganj Eye Hospital premises. Abdul Wadud MP of the district proper constituency was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
