Mudslide kills 2 in Sylhet stone quarry

Two workers were killed and three others were injured in a mudslide while extracting stones from a quarry in Bholaganj area of Companiganj upazila in Sylhet on Sunday night, reports UNB.

The deceased are Ruhul Amin, 22, and Motibur, 32, residents of Muradpur area of Sunamganj district.

The mud of the stone quarry collapsed on the worker while they were extracting stones by running generator at around 9:30pm, said Companiganj police station officer-in-charge Shafiqur Rahman.

On information, police recovered the bodies at around 11:30pm.

The injured were admitted to Companiganj Health Complex.

Police, meanwhile, arrested labour leader Abdur Rouf.
