No appointment needed for Indian visa applications in Khulna, Jashore

The Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Thursday announced that applicants for tourist visas can walk in and submit their applications at the Indian Visa Application Centres (IVACs) in Khulna and Jashore without any prior appointment from 11 June onwards.

The decision has been taken as part of the on-going initiatives by the High Commission of India to further liberalise, streamline and ease access to Indian visa for Bangladesh nationals, the statement said.

Applications will be accepted from 8am to 12pm at the respective IVACs, said the Indian High Commission.

The other existing walk-in schemes of submission of visa applications for non-tourist visas viz., medical, business, conference and other types of visas will continue as before.

Separate counters for walk-in tourist visas for senior citizens and Muktijodhas will also continue.

This is further to the pilot initiatives started at IVACs in Chattogram on 9 July, 2017, Rajshahi and Rangpur on 10 September, 2017, Mirpur Road, Dhaka on 10, October, 2017, Sylhet, Mymensingh and Barishal on 20 May, 2018 and is being extended to IVACs in Khulna and Jashore on a similar trial basis, said the High Commission.

It said these measures are aimed at easing access to the Indian visa and strengthening people-to-people contacts between India and Bangladesh.
