The country will get no respite from the severe hot weather as the heat wave is likely to sweep over some parts of the country specifically Rajshahi and Jessore regions in next two days.
A spokesman of Met office said severe heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Jessore regions while mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over the rest part of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the regions of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, Sayedpur, Barisal and Patuakhali and it may continue.
Some 34.3 degrees Celsius temperature was recorded in Dhaka at 12 noon today while it was 35.3 degrees Celsius yesterday at the same time, he added.
Meanwhile, a weather forecast bulletin said day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and the regions of Pabna and Bogra with hails at isolated places.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, the release added.
