The main gate of Tuba factory building at Hossain Market in Badda was unlocked at about 11:45am on Wednesday.

Earlier in the morning, around one thousand agitated workers of the apparel units of Tuba group were trapped inside the factory at Hossain Market as four entrances of the building were kept under lock and key.

Md Miraz, one of the workers, claimed that police locked up the entrances of the building at about 6:00am on Wednesday, but police denied the allegation.

Meanwhile, police drove out workers' leaders and physicians from the factory building.

Earlier, the owners of the Tuba groups agreed to pay the due wages of two months at BGMEA building today.

The workers, who are observing hunger strike, said that as they did not agree to collect two months' wages, police locked them up at the building.

Democratic Left Alliance activists started their solidarity rally in front of Hossain Market at about 11:4am in support of the hunger strike of the workers. Police snatched their megaphones and banners during the rally. Some of the activists were also injured as police charged baton on the rally.
