Couple killed in Nilphamari road accident

A couple was killed in a road crash at Kazirhat in Nilphamari Sadar upazila on Sunday morning, reports UNB.

The deceased were Swapan Roy, 30, and his wife Sumi Roy, 25, both workers of Sonic Company at Uttara Export Processing Zone.

Witnesses said they were going to Uttara EPZ on the motorcycle of another person to join the work.

As the motorcyclist lost control while overtaking a truck the couple was crushed under its wheels.

Fortunately, Satish Chandra, the motorcyclist, survived.

Nilphamari Sadar police officer in charge Mahmud-Un-Nabi said that the bodies were recovered and sent to the Nilphamari Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The truck was seized, he said.
