Two bikers killed in Naogaon road crash

Two men returning home on a bike were crushed to death by a speedy truck on the Rajshahi-Naogaon highway in Bijoypur on Friday night.

The deceased were identified as Saidur Rahman, 35, son of Nazir Uddin of Badalghata village under Manda Sadar upazila, and Alfaz Hossain, 35, son of Ashar Ali of the same village.

Manda police station's officer-in-charge Shahinur Rahman said that the accident occurred around 10:00pm when the victims were returning home from work.

"A speedy truck hit the bike as its driver failed to spot them. The duo died on the spot after getting crushed under the wheels of the truck," he said.

Local police rushed to the spot soon after being informed by passersby and sent the bodies to the local hospital morgue for an autopsy. "The bodies have been handed over to their family members," the OC said.

A case has been filed at Manda police station in connection with the accident.
