Areas marked as red zones ...

The authorities have marked 45 areas of two Dhaka city corporations, a number of areas under Chittagong City Corporation and different areas of three other districts -- Narsingdi, Narayanganj and Gazipur.

The central advisory committee to tackle coronavirus in a meeting on Saturday marked these areas.

It said the deputy commissioner, the civil surgeon and the police super will mark the areas in these zones in red.

Dhaka North

The 17 red zoned areas under Dhaka North City Corporation are Gulshan, Badda, Cantonment, Mohakhali, Tejgaon, Rampura, Aftabnagar, Mohammadpur, Kallayanpur, Mogbazar, Airport, Banasree, Rajabazar, Uttara and Mirpur.

Dhaka South

While the 28 red zoned areas in Dhaka South City Corporation are Jatrabari, Demra, Mugda, Gendaria, Dhanmondi, Jigatola, Lalbagh, Azimpur, Basabo, Shantinagar, Paltan, Kolabagan, Ramna, Sutrapur, Malibag, Kotowali, Tikatuli, Mitford, Shahjahanpur, Motijheel, Wari, Khilgaon, Paribagh, Kadamtali, Siddheswari, Laksmi Bazar, Elephant Road and Segunbagicha.

Chittagong

Ten areas in the port city have been red zoned. They are ward 37, 38 of Chattogram port, ward 39 of Patenga, ward 10 of Pahartali, 16, 20, 21 and 22 no ward of Kotowali, ward 14 of Khulshi and ward 26 of Halishahar.

Narsingdi, Narayanganj and Gazipur

All the upazilas of Gazipur have been red zoned while in Narsingdi three areas -- Sadar Model thana, Madhabdi and Palash -- were marked in red.

In Narayanganj, it was the entire city area besides Araihazar, Rupganj and Sadar upazilas.
