Bahrain to cover treatment expenses of foreign workers

The Kingdom of Bahrain has announced that they will cover all expenses of treatment of all affected foreign workers, including Bangladesh nationals, who are working there, reports UNB.

Bangladesh ambassador to Bahrain Md Nazrul Islam met interior minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa on Thursday.

Bahrain foreign minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani was also present, among others.

They briefed ambassadors from Bangladesh, the Philippines and Pakistan and Indian CDA about measures taken to contain coronavirus among expatriate community.

They conveyed the message that the King of Bahrain gave directives to look after the welfare of expatriate community, and will cover all expenses of treatment of the affected foreign workers.

"We appreciated the proactive and effective measures of the government of Bahrain to tackle the crisis," said the Bangladesh ambassador in a message.
