Probe report in graft case against ex-TCB official, wife 9 Aug

A Dhaka court on Thursday set 9 August to submit a probe report in a graft case against former assistant executive of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) Ali Azam Khan and his wife Jahan Ara.

Dhaka metropolitan sessions judge KM Imrul Qayesh passed the order, accepting the first information report (FIR) filed in the case, reports BSS.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) deputy assistant director Md Altaf Hossain filed the case against the couple on 3 June for amassing illegal wealth of Tk 12.3 million.

According to the case documents, ACC sent notice to Ali Azam Khan and his wife on 6 May 2019, for submitting a wealth statement.

On 27 May, the couple submitted their statements, mentioning the wealth of Tk 25.4 million. ACC in their investigation found wealth of Tk 12.3 million were amassed illegally.
