Doraiswami likely to replace Riva Ganguly as Indian ambassador

If finalised, Doraiswami will replace Riva Ganguly Das, the 1986 batch IFS officer, who is likely to take over as secretary (east) at the MEA when the incumbent Vijai Thakur Singh retires in September

Vikram Doraiswami, additional secretary in charge of International Organisations and Summits at the India’s foreign ministry, is likely to be the next Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh.

However, there has been no official announcement yet, reports news agency UNB quoting Indian news outlet Hindustan Times.

Vikram K Doraiswami, 45, joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1992. Prior to joining the Indian government, he worked as a journalist. He took a Masters’ Degree in History from the University of Delhi.

If finalised, Doraiswami will replace Riva Ganguly Das, the 1986 batch IFS officer, who is likely to take over as secretary (east) at the MEA when the incumbent Vijai Thakur Singh retires in September, according to the Hindustan Times report.
