PM Hasina mourns death of Niloufer Manzur

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Niloufer Manzur, the founding principal of English medium Sunbeams School, reports UNB.

The prime minister prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved families.

Renowned educationist Niloufer Manzur died from COVID-19 at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka around 3:00am on Tuesday. She was 74.

She left behind her husband Syed Manzur Elahi, adviser to a former caretaker government and chairman of Apex Footwear Ltd, son, daughter, grandchildren and a large host of friends, admirers and students.

Niloufer Manzur was the daughter of late Mafiz Ali Chowdhury, a former minister in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's cabinet in 1972.
