13 killed as truck overturns in Gaibandha

At least 13 people were killed as an iron rod-laden truck overturned in Palashbari upazila of Gaibandha on Thursday.

Gaibandha police superintendent Towhidul Islam confirmed the death toll to Prothom Alo.

Police said the Rangpur-bound truck from Dhaka turned turtle in Dublagari area of the upazila as its driver lost control over steering around 12:30 in the afternoon. Thirteen of them died on the spot

The driver and his assistant managed to flee the scene, the police added.
