Bhairab train accident: 3 railway officials suspended

Bangladesh Railway (BR) has suspended three officials in the terrible train accident in Bhairab of Kishoreganj.

These three officials are – the locomaster, assistant locomaster and guard of the freight train.

Divisional Manager (Dhaka Division) of Bangladesh Railway, Md Shafiqul Islam, told the media that the suspended three officials are locomaster Jahangir Alam, assistant locomaster Atiqur Rahman and guard of the container train Alamgir Hossain.

He said they have taken the steps following preliminary investigation as the officials failed to discharge their duty which resulted in an accident that took 17 lives.
