Five more die at coronavirus unit of CMCH

Five people undergoing treatment at coronavirus unit of Comilla Medical College Hospital died over the last 24 hours till Saturday morning.

Among the dead, one was a confirmed coronavirus patient while the others had coronavirus symptoms. Three of the patients were men and two women.

Director of the hospital, Md. Mujibur Rahman, confirmed this.

According to hospital sources, a 75-year-old woman from Chauddagram who was undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of the hospital, died around 1:00am Saturday. She was confirmed to have coronavirus.

Among others, an 80-year-old man from died around 11:30pm while a 60-year-old man died around 12:00am. They both were from Shahrasti, Chandpur.

Another 77-year-old woman from Cumilla metropolitan died around 11:15am and a 60-year-old man from Chatkhil, Noakhali died around 10:00am.

So far, 284 people died at Cumilla COVID-19 hospital in about two months since its launch on 3 June. There are 119 patients admitted in the hospital among whom 80 are men and 39 women. Some 44 patients are at the isolation ward, 58 at coronavirus ward and 17 admitted to ICU.
