Indian girl, held for trespassing, handed over to BSF

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) handed over an Indian girl, who was detained for trespassing into Bangladesh, to India's Border Security Force (BSF) through a flag meeting on Friday, reports UNB.

The detainee was identified as Mst Kushnama, 17, daughter of Ismail Hossain, from Uttar Dinajpur district of India.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Tentulia Company Commander Subedar Md Abdul Motaleb said the girl was arrested while trespassing into Bangladesh after developing an affair with a Bangladeshi youth of Thakurgaon district by Tentulia police near the border on Thursday.

Kushnama was handed over to BSF through a flag meeting on Friday, he said.

Assistant Commandant of BSF 276 Battalion Kamal Singh from the Indian side, Indian and Bangladeshi police were present at the meeting.
