Man ‘commits suicide’ failing to repay NGO loans

A man killed himself after failing to repay loans from different non-government organisations (NGOs) in Gomastapur of Chapainawabganj on Friday morning, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Abdus Sattar, 67, of Bosanil village in Radhanagar union of the upazila.

Police recovered the hanging body of Abdus Sattar from a mango tree in the area on Friday morning.

Dilip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Gomastapur police station, said the body was to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Abdus Sattar had committed suicide after failing to repay a loan from different NGOs, the OC added.
