Textile mill worker with fever, cough dies, buried in Sunamganj

A textile mill worker who died with fever and cold on Wednesday at a hospital in Gazipur was buried in Mahtabpur village in Sunamganj’s Tahirpur upazila on Thursday night, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Jahirul, 22, son of Kafil Uddin of Mahtabpur village in Tahirpur upazila.

Jahirul's family members said he died at a hospital in Gazipur at 7:00pm on Wednesday after suffering from fever and cough for a week.

Kulsuma Begum of Companiganj upazila in Sylhet and Malik Ustar brought Jahirul's body to Mahtabpur village on Thursday evening and buried him at around 8:00pm, they added.

Family also said that Jahirul had been working at a factory in Gazipur for the last two years but could not specify the name of the factory.

Tahirpur police and physicians from Tahirpur upazila health complex visited the village and kept seven people in home quarantine, said Iqbal Hossain, UHFPO, of the hospital.

He also said that the local administration has hoisted red flags in front of the houses of the quarantined people.

Tahirpur upazila nirbahi officer Bijen Banarjee said local administration kept the victim's parents, relatives and two persons who brought his body from Gazipur in home quarantine.
