Three more SBMCH doctors diagnosed with virus infection
Three more physicians of Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday, reports UNB.
So far, the district has reported 20 confirmed coronavirus cases.
The samples were tested at SBMCH.
Barishal district administration said the doctors were the duty physicians at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. All of them are residents of Barishal sadar upazila.
Hospital sources said that two physicians are interns. Their roommate had tested positive for coronavirus.
The other doctor is the medical officer of Medicine-2 Unit of the hospital who was on-duty in the Corona Unit.
Barishal deputy commissioner SM Ozior Rahman said they placed the residences of the three doctors under lockdown. “We’re also tracing their contacts,” he said.
Bangladesh on Saturday reported nine more coronavirus deaths and 306 new cases. So far, the country has recorded 2,144 confirmed cases and 84 deaths.
