Human hauler ride takes 2 lives

A man and a teenage boy were killed and six people injured following a collision between a human hauler and a trolley in Helipad area of Charfassion upazila of Bhola on Thursday morning, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as Md Mansur Talukder, 45, son of Rahim Sikder, a resident of ward no. 9 in Osmanganj union and Siam, 12, son of Md Masud, a resident of Aslampur union.

Charfassion police station officer-in-charge Md Enamul Haque said the battery-run human hauler (known as Borak in local parlance) collided with the goods-laden trolley in the morning, leaving Mansur dead on the spot and seven other people critically injured.

Among the injured, Siam died on the way to hospital.

Earlier in the day, five people were killed and 14 others injured when a bus plunged into a roadside ditch on the Khulna-Satkhira road.

With these, at least 64 people lost lives in road accidents in the past one week ahead and after the Eid vacation across the country.
