Man, son killed in Bandarban clash

A man was gunned down and his son was hacked to death in a remote area in Ruma upazila in Bandarban on Friday night during a clash over establishing supremacy between two groups, reports UNB.
The deceased are Kyngpru, 65, and his son Mongaching, 23.
Md Shamsul Alam, upazila nirbahi officer of Ruma upazila, said the clash ensued between the supporters of former head and current head of the Ujanipari area of Paindu union over establishing supremacy.
Mongre Ong, the current head of Ujanipari, along with his supporters, went to the house of former head Kyngpru around 10:00pm and opened fire on him, leaving him dead on the spot, he said quoting witnesses.
Later, they hacked his two sons, leaving one dead on the spot and the other injured.
Ruma police station officer-in-charge Shariful Islam said on information they sent police force to the remote area.
