RMG factories to be shut unless workers join work: BGMEA

Leaders of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers Exporters Association (BGMEA) on Sunday said the readymade garment factories will be shut down indefinitely from Monday if the workers do not join work.

"The workers will not be paid if they do not join work from Monday. As per section 13/1 of Labour Law, the factory will be shut," BGMEA president Siddiqur Rahman told a press confernce at its office in Kawran Bazar in the city.

A tri-party meeting will be held at the secretariat in the afternoon to solve the pay structure of the workers.
