The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday approved charge sheets of two cases filed against former BNP lawmaker Mosaddek Ali Falu and his wife on charges of acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income and concealing asset information, reports UNB.

ACC deputy director Md Jahangir Alam filed a case against Falu, also chairman and managing director of a private television channel NTV, with Ramna police on 15 May 2017.

ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said Falu was accused of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 178.60 million. According to case documents, the BNP leader concealed information of his wealth in the asset details submitted to the ACC.

The commission also filed a case in the same year against Falu's wife for allegedly acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income.

She was also accused for concealing information of the wealth worth around Tk 40 million, according to the case documents.
