‘Suprobhat Paribahan’ owner arrested

Detectives in a drive arrested owner of the ‘Suprobhat Paribahan’ from the capital's Mugda area on Thursday in a case filed over the death of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) student Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury in a road accident at Pragati Sarani on 19 March, reports UNB.

A team of DB police (north division) arrested owner of the transport company, Gopal Nandi Karmakar, around 6:30am, said deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Masudur Rahman.

Abrar Ahmed died after being run over by a bus of ‘Suprobhat Paribahan' in front of the main gate of Bashundhara residential area on 19 March.

Meanwhile, police have arrested the driver.

Victim's father Brig Gen (retd) Arif Ahmed Chowdhury filed the case at Gulshan police station.
