3 killed in Bhola clash over ‘defamatory remarks about prophet’

Three people were killed in a clash between police and local people while they were staging demonstrations at Eidgah ground in Bhola’s Borhanuddin upazila on Sunday, reports UNB.

The locals were agitating demanding punishment of a youth for reportedly making derogatory remarks about Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM) and sharing that with his Facebook friends. 


Three of the deceased were identified as Mahfuz Patwari, Shaheen and Mahbub Patwari.

Talking to local journalists, Sarkar Mohammad Kawsar, superintendent of Bhola police, said three people were killed in the clash.
A policeman also suffered bullet wounds during the fight, he added.
