Teacher detained for rape attempt on student

A lecturer of Rajshahi University School and College in Rajshahi was arrested on Sunday for rape attempt on a sixth grader girl, reports UNB.

Police said they arrested Durul Huda from Kajla area.

He was shown arrested in a case filed by the victim’s mother. A court sent him to jail when he was produced before it, UNB quoted Hafizur Rahman Hafiz, officer-in-charge of Motihar police station as saying,

According to case details, Durul called the girl to a store room around 8:00am on 16 October and attempted to rape her.

Neighbours came to the girl’s rescue when she shouted out for help. Durul managed to flee.
