Shahnaz Rahman top woman taxpayer of Dhaka city

Shahnaz Rahman, director of Transcom Group, has been named the top woman taxpayer of Dhaka City Corporation.

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) yesterday published this list of top taxpayers of the city corporations and district towns. The publisher of Prothom Alo, Mediastar Ltd, is a company of the Transcom Group.

In 2017, NBR accorded the Kar Bahadur (tax hero) title to 84 families who had been long-time consistent taxpayers. Transcom Group chairman Latifur Rahman and his family were accorded the award at the time.

Three top taxpayers, two long-term taxpayers, one woman taxpayer and one young taxpayer from each city corporation and district will be honoured at an event on 14 November in the capital city. A total of 521 taxpayers will be awarded this year.
