3 govt officials arrested on graft charges

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday arrested three government officials on corruption charges, reports UNB.

ACC public relations officer (PRO) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB that they arrested the government officials in separate drives in three districts.

In the morning, district coordinated office, Faridpur arrested Enayetnagar union land officer of Madaripur Abul Kalam Azad. 


A team, led by ACC deputy director Abul Kalam Azad, arrested him as he allotted plots to 76 people filling up a pond, which is a government property, without any approval.

On the other hand, sub-post master of Dattapara sub-post office in Chandraganj of Laxmipur district Shrivas Chandra Das was held from Maizdi in Noakhali district.

According to the ACC, the poster master during his tenure in Dattapara sub-post office embezzled Tk 302,700 from five clients.

Alongside, the ACC arrested accountant officer of Rajshahi Development Authority Rustam Ali as he allotted plots without following rules.

Director of ACC Rajshahi divisional office Mohammad Morshed Alam arrested him from Banalata area of Rajshahi in the afternoon.
