2 killed in Panchagarh road crash

Two local traders were killed as a truck crashed a motorcycle in Barister Bazar area on Panchagarh-Tetulia Highway on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Md Nuruzzaman Khan, 43, son of Khatib Uddin of Rajnagar area of Sadar upazila and Mahbubur Rahman Jony, 40, son of Abdul Kader of Khalpara area in Sadar upazila.

Officer-in-charge of Panchagarh police station Rabiul Hasan Sarkar said a truck coming from Tetulia hit the motor-cycle killing Nuruzzaman on the spot and Jony later died on the way to the hospital.

After the accident, the agitated locals blocked the road and seized the truck but its driver managed to flee, he said.
