155 BNP activists sued over Chandrima Udyan clash

Police lodged a case against 155 activists and organisers of Bangladesh Nationalist Party over a clash with police at Chandrima Udyan in Dhaka on Tuesday.

The accused have been charged for conducting sabotage, injuring law enforcement personnel and vandalising vehicles and other public properties.

The case was lodged with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station on Tuesday night.

Amanullah Aman and Aminul Haque -– the convener and member secretary of the newly formed Dhaka north unit of BNP, are among the accused.

Till 11:00am Wednesday, police arrested at least 47 BNP men linked to the clash.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner at Tejgaon division, Md Shahidullah confirmed the matter to Prothom Alo.

He said that attempts are being made to arrest the accused.
