Former Cumilla City Corporation mayor Monirul Islam Sakku has been expelled from BNP for violating the party’s code of conduct.

BNP on Thursday issued a press release signed by its assistant office secretary Taijul Islam over his expulsion from all levels, including the primary membership.

The release asked all the leaders and activists not to maintain communication with Monirul, a former joint secretary of Cumilla South BNP unit.

Monirul has submitted the nomination paper for Cumilla City Corporation poll as an independent mayoral candidate.
