Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) vice-chairman Barkat Ullah was attacked in Cumilla’s Manoharganj on his way to Dhaka from Begumganj in Noakhali on Saturday evening.
He is being brought to Dhaka in an injured state.
Meanwhile, BNP have alleged that activists of Chhatra League and Jubo League carried out this attack in Bipulasar market in Manoharganj.
Former chairman of Bipulasar union parishad and general secretary of Monoharganj upazila BNP, Sharif Hossain also sustained injuries in the attack.
