Prothom Alo managing editor Sajjad Sharif’s mother no more

Mina Shaheed, mother of Prothom Alo managing editor and poet Sajjad Sharif, has died from COVID-19 in a city hospital.

The 80-year-old breathed her last on Thursday afternoon, said Sajjad Sharif.

She was hospitalised on Friday and later tested positive for coronavirus, he added saying, “Physicians had decided to give her plasma therapy on Wednesday and the process of collecting the plasma began today. But, she died before that.”

The guidelines for the burial of COVID-19 patients will also be followed throughout her burial, Sajjad Sharif said.
