Four Chinese returnees test positive for coronavirus

The four Chinese returnees have tested positive for coronavirus at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

It is learnt that they arrived in Dhaka from Kunming at 3:00 pm. Later, they were sent to the corona hospital in Mohakhali for further measures. The executive director of the airport group captain Muhammed Kamrul Islam confirmed the matter to Prothom Alo.

He said an aircraft, MU 2035, from Kunming in China landed in Dhaka at 3:00 pm with 105 passengers onboard. Of them, four male passengers tested positive for Covid-19 in rapid testing. All are Chinese.      

However, the concerned airport officials could not confirm the coronavirus variant found in their body.  

A responsible officer of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) told Prothom Alo that they will be tested at IEDCR for the second phase.
