Ruling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) acting general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif on Tuesday said the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has become isolated from people because of its corruption and ill-politics, reports BSS.

“The BNP is out to spread falsehood and propaganda against the government,” he told newsmen after distributing relief goods among cyclonic storm Fani-hit people at Noakhali sadar and Subarnachar upazilas.

AL presidium member Begum Matia Chowdhury, joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, agriculture and cooperatives secretary Faridunnahar Laily, education and human resource affairs secretary Shamsunnahar Chapa, Noakhali-4 constituency MP Ekramul Karim Chowdhury and district AL president principal Khairul Anam Chowdhury Selim, among others, were present on the occasion.

Hanif said the people have no control over natural disasters.

“You should not be hopeless, you should remain patient. prime minister Sheikh Hasina, who is in London now, gave us directives to stay beside you,” he told the victims.

The AL acting general secretary said as long as prime minister Sheikh Hasina remains alive, none will starve and become homeless.

The government will build new houses for every family, whose houses got
damaged due to Fani, he added.
