Govt allows to import onion from Monday

The government has allowed to import onion from Monday in a bid to control its prices, raising by a large margin -- from Tk 40 to Tk 80 in a month.

In this regard, the agricultural ministry issued a press release on Sunday.  

The release read the decision has been taken to reduce the pressure on low-income and working people.

The imports of this kitchen staple remained suspended considering the interest of the farmers.
