Two more banks cancel card transactions with Evaly, Alesha Mart, 8 others
Bank Asia and Dhaka Bank have cancelled their transactions using debit, credit and prepaid cards with 10 e-commerce platforms including Evaly and Alesha Mart a day after BRAC Bank terminated its transaction contracts with them.
The other eight e-commerce sites are Dhamaka, E-orange, Sirajganj Shop, Aladiner Prodip, Boom Boom, Qcoom, Adyen Mart and Needs.com.bd.
Dhaka Bank notified its customers in a text message on Thursday that all kinds of card transactions with several online merchants would remain suspended until further notice for the sake of the security of the bank’s card users.
Regarding this, officials of both banks’ card division said it’s a temporary measure.
A meeting was scheduled to be held at the commerce ministry on Thursday on the matter, the officials said adding if a positive decision is made, card service may resume on Thursday night.
