7th death anniversary of Tareque, Mishuk today

The 7th death anniversary of renowned filmmaker Tareque Masud and cinematographer and broadcast journalist Mishuk Munier is being observed today.

Different socio-cultural organisations are holding various programmes while television channels will be airing special programmes on them and their works marking their tragic death, reports UNB.

On the occasion, Moviyana Film Society and Tareque Masud Memorial Trust in association with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and the Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh will jointly hold a memorial programme and discussion in the afternoon at Tareque Masud memorial in front of Shamsunnahar Hall of Dhaka University.

Besides, Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh and Tareque Masud Memorial Trust are jointly organising a discussion programme at6:00pm at the same place.

On 13 August 2011, Tareque and Mishuk along with three others were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Ghior Upazila of Manikganj while returning to Dhaka from Manikganj after visiting a shooting location.

The accident happened when a microbus carrying the two celebrities collided with a bus on the highway.
